About Us
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
We are thrilled to offer an incredible enrichment program for homeschooling families! Our mission is to inspire minds to think creatively and become confident leaders in their communities. Our once-a-week program is perfect for your Pre-K to High School aged children, and our supportive community of moms is here to help you on your teaching journey. Our lending library is stocked with amazing books and curriculum for everyone to borrow and return, making it easy for families to access the resources they need. Thanks to generous donations, we are able to keep our tuition low and affordable for families, as well as supply different kinds of curriculum to try and buy!
Our Story
To tell the story of BBA, we need to start at the beginning. Kenna and Kasey both owned a bakery. Neither knew the other from Adam, but one day, Kenna decided it was time to focus on her daughter with the upcoming birth of her son. So, she closed her bakery and listed its contents for sale. Kasey was the first person to come by and purchased all of her equipment. After that day, a friendship blossomed. They started homeschooling their kids together, going to local libraries, radiating out from Winnsboro, and spending the evenings working together in Kasey's bakery when she was needed.
One day, while they watched their kids play at the park after a homeschool session, they realized that many other families could benefit from this type of learning. That their children learned well at home but thrived and truly enjoyed having the change of scenery and friends to learn with. After many months of logistics, we decided to just go for it and contacted local churches to host us. Tinney Chapel in Winnsboro became our home! We had a magical first year and learned many things about what it takes to run this kind of establishment.
Kasey decided she wanted to focus her energy into BBA it was a hard decision, but by closing down the bakery was the best way to focus all our energy into their homeschools and BBA. Doubling down in BBA, they decided that for the future and where they wanted BBA to be, they needed to go non-profit so that they could get grants, take donations, and allow it to help more people discover the joys of homeschooling and allow their children access to events and other experiences that they might not get being homeschooled. We are approaching our 2nd official year of being a nonprofit and continue to grow every day, making new friends and exploring the freedoms that homeschooling allows us.
